Partnerships

Coldwater Canada is a Christian leadership development ministry that specializes in designing and leading backcountry wilderness experiences and leadership trainings to develop, equip and empower Jesus-centered leaders. Our wilderness programs range from 3-18 day canoeing or backpacking trips, and our leadership development programs are either 2-4 months in the summer or an 8 month community based leadership program. While primarily serving youth and young adults, we also lead adult experiences. Many of our programs are listed on our website, but we also value collaborating with other organizations and welcome opportunities to lead custom programs for churches, camps, and schools.

Camp Norland is the partner basecamp for Coldwater Canada from May to September.

Kipling Baptist Church – Pastor Steve Olmstead, Camp Norland Board Chair, says:

In the summer of 2010 I helped serve the pulpit at Kipling Baptist Church. In October of that year I came here as the full-time pastor. I first heard of Kipling Baptist Church in 2001 when I met some Christians from here. They talked of their DVBS program, and a place called Camp Norland, located on the same Deer Lake as the church property. That summer we brought our oldest son to camp. Not being familiar with the area my wife and I continued driving to see where the road went. As I came past the Church building the thought entered my mind, “How could someone not be inspired here.” I never gave it anymore thought until years later when I was looking for a place to worship with other Christians. It was then that we first came to Kipling Baptist Church.

Northern Association of Baptist Churches – The camp wouldn’t exist without the NABC. It was their original vision for a summer children’s camp and their initiative in sharing the vision with the Ackerlands that began the ministry of Camp Norland. Read more about it in our History section. They have been faithful supporters through the decades with countless volunteer hours given by so many people of all ages.
